Analyses of survey data obtained from 97\\nstudents who completed a questionnaire revealed the followings: (a) 39% of 61 students who dislike or somewhat dislike English lost interest in studying the subject when they were first-year junior high\\nschool students; (b) vocabulary and listening are the most preferred categories of earning English, while grammar, reading, and peaking (English conversation) are the least; (c) most of the students did not acquire appropriate study habits and learning strategies in high school; and (d) the majority of students want to relearn basic English in college. This paper discusses the pedagogical implications of these findings for classroom use.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_2_publisher_32":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"新潟工科大学"}]},"item_2_source_id_7":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"1342-792X","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_2_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN10590360","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_2_version_type_15":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"metadata only access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cb"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Kominato, Ayako"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{}]}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"remedial education"},{"subitem_subject":"attitude toward studying English"},{"subitem_subject":"study habits"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Engineering Students’ Perception of Learning English and Study Habits","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Engineering Students’ Perception of Learning English and Study Habits","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"2","owner":"4","path":["25"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2014-01-22"},"publish_date":"2014-01-22","publish_status":"0","recid":"225","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Engineering Students’ Perception of Learning English and Study Habits"],"weko_creator_id":"4","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-20T05:58:15.727501+00:00"}
