This paper studied preparation of a stable emulsified fuel composed of biodiesel fuel and water. In the tested fifteen kinds of commercial surfactants, CRS-75 (Sakamoto Yakuhin Kogyo Co., Ltd., Japan) was found to be suitable for preparation of emulsion of biodiesel fuel and water. This surfactant is a kind of polyglycerol fatty acid ester and is used in food processing. Biodiesel fuel and water were mixed with 1% (w/v) CRS-75 in a beaker using a stirrer. The viscosity of emulsified fuel was increased with increasing of the amount of adding water. |
